Family in town!

Our whole family was in town for a good couple of days which was so much fun! Wendy and Kevin and their family are staying with us for a couple weeks while they are preparing to move to Texas. Matt and Jess and their family came for a couple days around the 4th of July. It's been so fun to be with everyone! With everyone in town we of course had to get a family picture! Sadly it will already be out of date when Rachel and Robert have their little baby! But oh well! It's so fun to have a big family! I wouldn't have it any other way! It's been a great summer having everyone around!

EFY!!!

Well, I had the great opportunity of being an EFY counselor a couple weeks ago. It was such a great experience!! I participated in a volunteer stay-at-home session in Ogden. The kids got there at 9 every morning and left again at 9 that night. I drove up every day which really wasn't too bad of a commute. When I was young I really enjoyed going to EFY and I was really excited to help other kids have a good time. I learned so much that week! I think I needed the experience as much, if not more than those youth! It was a good opportunity for me to step back and to judge where I am spiritually. Watching those young girls, some of which didn't really know much about the gospel, start to learn how to search the scriptures and ask questions was so great! There are so many smart, strong youth out there! So much stronger than I was at their age! It was so great to feel the spirit and try and help them feel it as well! It was also so much fun to meet new people, the other counselors were great and I feel like I made some great friends for life! Over all it was such a great experience that I signed up to do another week in august! I can't wait!!

Playing catch up!!

Well! It's been a while...haha. I guess I just let time get away from me! Since my last post I've moved home, said by to a lot of great friends, some I may not see for a couple years, and gotten on with my working/grown up life. This year was such a great year, probably one of the best of my life! I had so much fun and it was soooo hard to leave! It's good to know I'll be back there soon! But things will be different! I hear that freshman year is on of the funnest of college! It's crazy I'm already a sophomore in college! Being back home I've seen all the kids a year younger than me graduate and it is so weird to think that it was already a year ago when that was me! Anyway... I'm back home and life is good!

It was lots of fun! we were able to see a lot of church sites and go to Niagra falls! We also got to see my new little nephew Christian and my other cute nephew James! It was a lot of fun! Here are a bunch of pictures from the trip!

Keeping busy!

The other day, some of my friends and I saw a flier advertising a rock, paper, scissors tournament. It was only five dollars to get in and you got a t-shirt and a bunch of free food...so we said, why not!? the other cool thing was that whoever won got $3,000!! Although none of us won, it was still fun! And we helped break a Guinness book of world records for the largest rock, paper, scissors tournament! They had bands playing and stuff so it was fun! it felt almost like a tail gate party! Here are some pictures of that!

Before we headed over to the tourney!

It's been such nice weather lately that we've been trying to be outside more and more! The other day some of us went on a really cool hike! We went up a canyon and found some neat hot springs one of my friends had been to before. It was about an hour hike in and then we reached the hot springs. They were really well kept with cement and rocks around them to make them look like real little pools. Even though they smelled like sulfur, it was lots of fun. It wasn't a hard hike at all, there were quite a few families with little kids who made it even. I'm so glad that the weather is getting so warm! I am so excited for summer! here are some pictures from the hike!

Basketball!!

Well, with finals coming I've had less and less time to do things like this blog. If I'm not studying, I'm either sleeping or spending time with friends that I won't see all summer! I've had such a good year! I love it here so much! It really seems like we just got here and we already have to say goodbye! It'll be a sad day when we all move home!
Well some fun things have been going on, for one, our basketball team is still in the tournament!!! We are one of the last two teams in our division!! We have a championship game this week! If we win, we get the intramural champs t-shirt! In our last game some of our friends from our ward brought us sliced oranges and capri suns for half time snacks! they wanted to be called the team dads! It was so funny and nice of them! We've had so much fun playing this year and hopefully we'll keep doing it in the future years! It'll be a nice way to keep in contact with good friends from this year!! here are some fun pictures from different basketball games!

Spring Time!

I'm on an intramural team with some of the girls on my floor and it has been a blast! We aren't that good at all...but it's still fun! The regular season we only had one win, but it was a good one! One of the players of the other team fouled out so they only had four players for a lot of the game.. but we are still going to count it as a victory for us! Our friend Jill claims she doesn't play basketball very well so she was appointed coach. She's been great! She'll even dress up like a coach and bring a white board and markers to the game. It actually helps a ton! Well last night we had our first tournament game....and we WON!!! It did help that the other team was all over 25 and one player was about 8 months pregnant. I think I even heard her talking about contractions right before we started playing! :S haha But she was their best player! We were all scared to guard her because of the baby! But we managed a win and are going to the next round! Who knows, maybe we'll win a shirt after all! (intramural champs win shirts, very coveted thing here on campus..) After the game we all dumped our water bottles over Coach Richards(Jill) , we didn't have any coolers handy. She led us to a great victory!! Hopefully we can continue on in the bracket!!

After the great victory we decided to conquer the mountain! Some of our friends had never hiked up to the Y so we decided to go for it! It's a pretty easy hike and it was a really pretty night! There were no clouds in the sky and you could see the stars so well! It was so much fun! One thing that some of my friends started doing was to lay upside down on the top of the Y so you could look out and see the city lights as if they were stars. It sounds kind of weird but it's pretty fun! That was my third time climbing up to the Y! It's a lot of fun! It makes me want to hike more! Maybe I will this summer!

Well spring is slowly coming! It's nice to be able to walk to class and not have ten layers on! The other day I went with my friends Kelsey and Jill, both of whom I'm living with next year, and took pictures of things around campus and the pretty weather. Of course we had to take some with ourselves in them so here are a few!

College Life!

Well I'm almost done with my first year at the university. I love it! It's been such a great experience to be away from home and to do things on my own. I love all the things i'm learning both in my classes and outside. It's been such a growing experience for me. I've made some great friends here that I'm going to live with next year and hopefully stay close to for many years to come. My sister Laura is also going to live with us. It'll be fun to be closer to her as we've become better friends this year because we are both living in the same area. I'm sad to see my freshman year come to a close. It'll be hard to go home for the whole summer and say bye to good friends. But I am excited to be with family again because I miss them so much! And the whole no school thing is pretty exciting as well!

Hello Blog world!

Well Laura my sister convinced me to get a blog.. I'm kind of excited but a little overwhelmed with all the stuff I have to learn! But I figure that now that our family is growing so much and is moving all over the country that I could keep in better contact with them through blogging! We'll see how much I keep this up... haha.
