Close Call...

Well, my car has been a little shaky for a few weeks.. I honestly just thought it was getting old. Today I was driving to Farmington to pick up a few things. It got more and more shaky the farther I went. By Salt Lake I was just praying to make it back in one piece. I had no clue as to what was wrong. I don't know anything about cars! Well... Luckily I stopped to say hi to a friend and he noticed the tire. It was completely mis-shaped and had a huge chunk of it missing. My friend helped me put on the spare but I still had to get all the way back to Provo... on a spare. I said a prayer that I could make it back safely and away I went. Taking it very slowly. I got onto I-15 and I did something I never thought I would. I prayed for traffic. That way I wouldn't have to go too fast and the spare would be alright. Luckily I had traffic almost the whole way back and I couldn't have been more happy. I know most of what happened today could have been avoided by a few smarter decisions and some knowledge about cars but I know that the Lord hears and answers prayers! He helped me be calm and to have to feeling to go see that friend. If I hadn't, I don't know what would have happened if I had tried to drive back to Provo with that tire like that! I'm so grateful for experiences like this that remind me that He is constantly there.

Picture of the tire skillfully captured by my phone.

Ye-Haw!!

Happy Pioneer Day Ya'll! To celebrate this year, a bunch of us went down to good ol' Hinckley, Utah to attend a rodeo! Let's just say, this was one heck of a rodeo! My favorite parts were the hide race, wild cow milking competition, and the kids calf chase. The kids calf chase was hilarious to watch. The emcee comes on the microphone and announces that all kids, 9-12 are welcome to come on out! Children from every direction stampede into the rodeo ring. Hoping fences, climbing over each other they made their way out there. He then procedes to explain how the rules work. "Down there are some calfs. We had gone and already taped on them there cows some money. When I count to three, run and try and get that money off of them cows. Ready? 1..2...3!" This herd of children sprinted towards the cows. I wasn't sure which I should be more afraid for, the children, most of which were pretty little and weren't afraid of trampling each other.... or the cows.... which had about 200 kids running straight at them. In the end, no large injures were sustained by either the cows or children. I'm pretty sure, in any larger of a town, lawsuits would ensue. All in all, the rodeo was a success. What better way to spend Pioneer day! Giddy-up!!

This picture was solely taken so I could capture the true patriotism that was present in this here town... look at the woman in the back right.. click to enlarge..

Just a little excited for the rodeo.

The Fray!!

Well, last night I got the chance to go to the Fray concert!! It was so much fun! It was at Usana Amplitheater out in Kearns which is a really cool venue. It's all outside with lawn and regular seats. We were lucky enough to be in the seats! I actually got to see these guys 2 years ago when they came and it was a great concert then, but man! They were even better last night! They are amazing musicians and definitely know how to put on a show with all the lights and everything! One of my favorites was when they performed an acoustic version of Kanye West's 'Heartless.' So good! Their music is appealing to me because it is pretty calm, it's clean, and just good altogether! haha.. I also like that they have a lot of Christian themes in their songs. If you want to hear any of their stuff just go HERE. Anyway, it was a great concert! If you ever have a chance to see them, go!!

They had this sweet screen at the top of the stage that had live video of each of the musicians.

Pizza Night!

Well, the other night some of us decided that we should make some personal pizzas. So we did. After all my experience at Papa Murphy's back in the day I decided that this was a good chance to show off my skills! But, I have to say, everyone did a great job and all the pizzas turned out great!! It was a lot of fun and tasted delicious!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince!

If you can't tell, I decided to try out these photo collage things... I like it! not so many pictures to up load and it's pretty cute if I do say so myself! Anyway.... Harry Potter!! It came out the other night and some of us decided to go to the midnight showing!! It was a lot of fun! While waiting for them to let us in we decided to try and take pictures of people who looked like characters from the book! We found Harry, Luna, Hermione and even Ron! (who happened to be my good friend Matt!) We had a fun time and the movie was great! There were some differences from the book but what do you expect when you're dealing with a 652 page book! All in all, it was a good night!
