One last thing... I think Daniel misses living with boys and watching the games with them. I came home from work to this... haha

No Shootin' Guns Inside

 Well, we had another Saturday that neither of us worked so we decided to go down to Tucson and Tombstone. We don't know how long we'll be in Arizona so we want to get as much done as possible while we are here.

 Mission San Xavier del Bac. This is a Catholic Mission built in the 1700's just south of Tucson.

I never realized that Tombstone was so famous! This was the quintessential rough and tough western town. The famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral happened here. It was pretty cool to learn all about the feud and look at the artifacts and buildings that are still there. 

The amazing thing about Tombstone is that even after the mines were closed and most people left, some stayed. And the town has been a inhabited town since it was opened. There moto is

 One of the funniest things that happened while we were there.... We were in one of the little museums and there were a few kids with fake cap guns shooting at each other. The worker just calmly says, "Please no shootin' yer guns inside." Only in Tombstone. I'm sure that was actually said quite a bit back in the day.

It was a fun little trip! It's been so fun living somewhere new and seeing the sites!

I guess we love zoos...

 So the other day we realized that we only have two days a month that neither of us are working. I work Monday through Friday and Daniel works the night shift every other Saturday and Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. That leaves us with those two Saturdays. So we decided, we are going to make the most of those Saturdays! On this particular Saturday we decided to go to another zoo. This one is a zoo and aquarium. I guess we like zoos? haha 

 You could pet the giraffe and feed them!  They came right up and stuck their tongues out.

 They also had a kangaroo exhibit where they were just hopping around us! There were about three that had little Roo's in their pouches. It was adorable!

There were probably 20 peacocks walking around. They were beautiful.

 This reminded me of the Bird zoo we went to in Brazil ..

Anyway, it was a fun Saturday!

Visitors!

 We both have awesome families! And we have been so lucky to have visitor's from both sides! Grandma and Grandpa Callan came down for little Grace's baptism so we were able to see them. As well as Uncle Paul and Aunt Kristie! Then Daniel's brother Jeff came to visit and brought Maria, his girlfriend and my old roommate! It was so fun to have them here. Sadly, I was sick for most of it  but we still tried to get out and do a few things.

 Just East of us there is a little mining town called Goldfield. They happened to be having a chili cook off so we decided to go. I did a lot of sitting on a bench while everyone else looked around since I felt sick. But I was able to get a few pictures! 

 We then went to Hole in the Rock. It's just a little rocky hill that you can climb up. You can see Phoenix, the zoo, and the airplanes all lining up to go to the airport. It's a nice little place.

 I was feeling a little better this day so I made it to the top. It's not much of a hike really.

We were so excited that Jeff and Maria could come!! We miss family so it's always great to see some!! 

 Then Laura and Anson came!! Anson had some days off of school so they came down. He has family down here as well so they were able to visit with both sides. We mostly just caught up, played games and hung out. We did go on a little hike near by called Silly Mountain.

We are so lucky to have such great families!! And if any other family wants to come visit, you better hurry before it gets too hot!!
