puzzling circumstances...

When was the last time you put together a puzzle? If not recently I definitely recommend doing it soon. The joy of finding that piece you've been looking for, that feeling of excitement when you know you're getting close to being done, and stepping back and admiring your work once it is finished. There is nothing that compares! My roommates and I have realized this happiness the past couple of months. And we are quickly spreading the addiction to others. It all started with this beauty. We especially liked the felines and the cosmos. random.

Next we got an assortment of other puzzles...

The most recent addition to the collect was the MEGA puzzle. Our friend Matt got it for us since he knows we love puzzling so much.

It definitely was mega.. we started it Sunday evening and didn't finish it until the next day. Even with help from about 15-20 people on and off. I guess that's still pretty good for a MEGA puzzle..

My other favorite thing about puzzling is what it does to people's minds while you're in the thick of it. People start going crazy. Saying all kinds of weird things. Also, people start to pick up titles for themselves depending on what they worked on. There were sky/tree people... The Thatchers..."The flower Master"

Ultimately we got it done, even tho there was a single piece missing for a bit. Don't worry, we found the culprit and made him pay.

Halloween!

For halloween this year my roommates and I wanted to think of something creative. something great. something funny. Something so unique people would say, "wow.. why didn't i think of that. it's genius!" Considering what we dressed up as last year that was asking a lot...

(last year's costume... the classic sheet ghost)

But we had high hopes and we were not ready to give up. We brain stormed and brain stormed and whether out of pure inspiration, or too many tired nights at the drawing board we thought of it. We decided to take a place of pure happiness and encapsulate it within a costume. A place where dreams come true, magic happens and there are happily ever afters. Where is this place you might ask? It is Disney Land. And what better ride to represent this happiness than...drum roll please... It's a small world after all! That never ending, catchy little tune would fill our ears all night long as we spread our happiness to all that would hear. Ok... so the song is pretty dang annoying. but we thought it was funny.

First we have a Mexican.

Next, an Arabian princess.

Next, a nice French man with a baguette.

We also had a Russian and an Asian person. (sorry, no solo shots for them.)

We downloaded the song and had a small ipod system in my poncho that would play 'it's a small world.' Sadly we were going to a dance party so no one could hear the music. Luckily we had a back up plan.. we just held hands and said we were the United Nations!
