crickets, stars, and slurpies

Last night I got home from work exhausted from a 12 hour work day. I laid down but was too awake to go to sleep. As I was laying in bed I could heard a cricket chirping outside my window. For some reason it made me think of summers at home in Farmington. I began to think of all the things that made growing up in Farmington so great and all the great summer memories I have there. I started to think of all the things I miss...Here are a few I thought of:

Sitting on our porch listening to the crickets
Laying on the tramp or swing looking at the stars
Playing night games of man hunt or kick the can
Hearing the metallic ting of the little league baseball games on the near by fields
Going on walks to woodland park
Sitting on the front porch with Mom watching the sunset
Playing in the stream and making dams
Walking up to Chevron for slurpies and potato logs
Riding bikes around the neighborhood
Going running on Lagoon trail and seeing the Bison
Neighborhood block parties
Camping with grandma and grandpa
Hearing the roller coasters from lagoon in the distance
Dad's BBQing
The blow up pool in the back yard
Watching the Lagoon fire works on the fourth of July
Dad taking us to the driving range
Farmington Festival days and parade
Doing yard work as a family
Going swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's
Waking up for piano lessons
Running errands with Mom
Playing with the sprinkler under the trampoline
Watching thunder storms from our front window

I love summer in Provo with all that is going on all the time, but at times I feel like I'm too busy! Lately I've been working so much and am realizing that this summer is going to fly by! Especially because I'm leaving in a month to go to Paraguay! Sometimes I wish my life could be simple again like those summers as a kid... but when I think about it more, I'm happy with where I am right now and it's where I need to be. But I still enjoy reminiscing on those fun times as a kid....

Now I´m really homesick! We can add some new memories to those while you´re here in Paraguay. The sun rises and sunsets are the best here!
